Hi,
My name is Maria Ramirez and I am New Holland’s Parent Coordinator. I manage the Parent Center at the school. The center is a place provided for parents to come and check out books and other materials that can be used at home to help our students be successful in school. The center also provides the supplies and help needed for parents to make or prepare instructional items to use at home.
Aside from providing books and materials, the center schedules and presents orientations to encourage a smooth transition for students coming into New Holland. The center also provides assistance with filling out forms, and other documents needed by the school.
I am always eager to help parents understand their child’s academic standing by providing needed language translation during parent/teacher/administrative conferences, phone calls, or privately scheduled visits.
I am especially proud that I have been provided with the resources needed to offer computer instruction to adults which are trying to learn English as their second language. The computer programs are available to all parents and can be used by simply calling or dropping by the school and scheduling times for computer use.
