Welcome to Gainesville Exploration Academy for the 2007-2008 school year!   At GEA, teachers are passionate about instruction and students are enthusiastic about learning.  We hold the highest expectations for student achievement at GEA, as every student is capable of academic excellence!

While all GEA students receive instruction in the basic subjects of Reading, Language Arts, and Math, we also emphasize an academy theme of EXPLORATION.  This means that teachers make learning interactive and fun by using hands-on math, science, and technology across the curriculum.  For example, GEA offers wireless internet access, mobile laptop labs, and handheld palm pilots for students to use.  GEA is committed to science, as the atrium and science laboratory are up and running, with outdoor classrooms, nature trails, and gardening projects to follow.

Additionally, GEA is committed to being a school for the community.  Aside from kindergarten thru 5^th grade, GEA serves Gainesville four year olds with two pre-kindergarten classes.  We have the adult literacy program Even Start and offer PACT (Parent and Child Together Time), Technology, and Plaza Comunitaria. YMCA After-school Education holds their program at GEA to keep students busy and engaged after school hours.
