Board of Directors Meeting

Minutes of October 11, 2006

 

Those attending were:  Susan Gilliam, Charlene Williams, Sheli Jones, Cooper Embry, Elizabeth Embry, Amanda Mercer, Susan Leneski, Sally Sewell, Laura Sumner, Ellen Scott, Tracy Wagonner, Jennifer Ceska, Shannon Ball, Julie Burchfield, Faith Ferguson, Michelle Saladin, Shantha Mcdonald, Tara Vandiver, Pricilla McKinnon, Kacey Cochran and Ani Pierce.

 

The October meeting of the Board was held on October 11, 2006 at Centennial Arts Academy. Sheli Jones called the meeting to order at 11:35 a.m. 

 

President’s Report:  Sheli reported that the PTA is going to contribute to the annual Christmas Party instead of giving individual gifts for teachers.  Door prizes are needed.

*Priscilla McKinnon made a motion to approve and Elizabeth Embry made a motion to second.

Susan Gilliam reported that posttest for the first quarter is finished and they are beginning the pretest.  Cathy Cox will visit on October 20th in honor of Centennial’s Academic Excellence.  There will be a reception at 9:00 am hosted by the PTA.

 

Elizabeth Embry reported that over $34,000 was sold through the Jaxco fundraiser.  Centennial receives 45%.

Jennifer Ceska reported on the cookbook fundraiser.  All entries are due this Friday.  The books will be sold for $15.00 with all proceeds going towards the computer fund.

 

Fun Run was a success.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Cooper Embry reported that Jaxco should make about $1,500 to $2,000 more than budgeted.  Tracy Waggoner will not need the $3,000 for hospitality because of donations.  Cooper suggested that money be used to buy two tables for Centennial teachers at the Boys and Girls Club benefit featuring Ron Clark.

*A motion by Elizabeth Embry was made to approve and Shantha McDonald made a motion to second.

 

Sally Sewell reported there were 3,410 box tops.

 

Popcorn volunteers are needed.

 

Priscilla McKinnon reported that the Reflections entries are due on November 1st.

 

Faith Ferguson reported the yearbooks will be preordered for $20.00 if ordered by December 12th otherwise they will be sold for $25.00 until January 19th.  Four hundred yearbooks will be ordered.
