Welcome to Gainesville City Schools! We are excited to begin a new year filled with rigorous learning and academic achievement. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 7, 2019! It's going to be a great year at GCSS!
Gainesville City School System will offer Open House for students and parents at all of our schools. We encourage families to attend to meet teachers and staff, receive important school information, and to tour our schools. Open House is available on the following dates and times:

AWARDS AND DISTINCTIONS
NJROTC Leadership Academy Graduates
Congratulations to GHS Cadets Jose Luna, Steven Le, Yahir Contreras, Abraham Aguirre, Sara Alvarez and Ivan Medrano as the 2019 graduates of the Area 12 NJROTC Leadership Academy. Steven Le was also awarded as an Honor Cadet for his outstanding achievement. These six students represented Gainesville High School's NJROTC program under the leadership of LT Nathan Bourdeau and SCPO Scott Thomson.
Governor Kemp Honors GHS Valedictorian
Kingsley Owusu Otoo and his parents visited the Governor's Mansion for the Annual Valedictorian Reception hosted by Governor and Mrs. Brian and Marty Kemp. Kingsley is the 2019 Valedictorian of Gainesville High School. He will attend the University of Notre Dame in the Fall with a major in neuroscience and behavior with a focus in Pre-Medicine.
