Message from Superintendent
Welcome to Gainesville City School System! We are eager to partner with you as we build One Gainesville!
The Gainesville City School System will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Enota elementary school on Thursday, July 27th at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be held at 1340 East Enota Avenue, the former site of the old Enota school.
Open House for GCSS will be held from
3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on the following dates:
GMS and GHS - July 28
Elementary Schools - July 31
Enota MI Academy - August 1
First Day of School 2017-2018
New teachers report - July 24
Teachers return - July 27
Students return - August 2

Registration for 2017-2018
The Gainesville City School System is pleased to announce Choice Enrollment, Pre-K Registration, and Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-18 school year as well as the opening of our sixth elementary academy, Mundy Mill Academy. Families that live in Mundy Mill Academy's attendance zone must provide transportation to any elementary school that is selected outside of the attendance zone. Additionally, transportation must be provided by families who select Mundy Mill Academy, but live outside of the Mundy Mill attendance zone. Beginning July 17, 2017, all students attending the Gainesville City School System will be required to provide two updated proofs of residency to the school that your child attends.

Students who do not present valid proofs of residency by September 1, 2017 will be withdrawn as of that date.
