GCSS will celebrate the 50th birthday of "The Rock" with a "Rockin' 50th Paint Party" on Sunday, October 22nd, at 4:30 p.m. at "The Rock". The community is invited to join us in celebrating this special occasion. Community members are asked to bring a rock to paint that will be added to our schools' rock gardens of choice.

GCSS Honors Fair Street Academy
Fair Street International Academy will be honored by the Georgia School Counselor Association at the GSCA Annual Conference Ceremony on November 8, 2017 for having a Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program. Fair Street's counseling program has received national recognition by the American School Counseling Association.
Parents are encouraged to complete the
Georgia Parent Survey for the 2017-2018 school year. The data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphone,or tablet. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish, and parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The survey is available online now through March 2, 2018, and can be accessed by clicking the link below.

District results for the 2017 administration of the ACT were recently released by the Georgia Department of Education. Gainesville City School System had more test takers in 2017 than 2016, and scores in all areas (English, math, reading, and science) were the highest achieved in the previous five years.
